Gobble Wobble Volunteers Needed (Walkers & Runners also welcome!)

Friends of Rec is seeking volunteers to help with its only annual fundraiser. (Of course, race participants are also needed!)

Friends of Southborough Recreation is hoping a flock of volunteers will sign up to help make their feel good fundraiser — the Gobble Wobble — run smoothly.

Volunteers are needed for the day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving morning. All volunteers get a free meal each shift1, a Gobble Wobble shirt, and community service hours. (Plus, that good feeling that comes with helping out!)

For those not familiar, the Gobble Wobble combines a 5K timed race with a 2 mile family-friendly walk on Thanksgiving morning.

The annual event is offered to support “community health, togetherness, and spirit”. But is also the Friends of Rec’s big annual fundraiser. Proceeds help support community recreation (facilities, programs, etc.)

For those looking to sign up to walk/run in the 20th annual Thanksgiving event, click here to register or here to learn more.

Thank you to the sponsors of this year’s Gobble Wobble. (See image right.)

And reminder, the community’s fun run for kids isn’t on Thanksgiving. That event (the Turkey Trot, run separately by Southborough Kindergroup) will take place earlier this month, on Sunday, November 15th. Read more about that here.

  1. Wednesday’s volunteers get free lunch/dinner and Thursday volunteers get a free breakfast.
