New lineup for Egg Hunts and Saturday fun

Forecast rain has triggered rain dates for the community Egg Hunts. Here's the new schedule and alternative fun.

Above: Instead of choosing which event to bring kids to, families can now enjoy an interactive story time at the Library this Saturday, Algonquin’s Egg Hunt on Sunday, and Southborough’s annual community Egg Hunt the following Saturday.

Southborough Kindergroup finally made the call to postpone Saturday’s big annual Egg Hunt. Earlier this week, ARHS’ National Honor Society did the same for their event.

The silver lining is that the groups’ new schedules are on different dates. Plus, an indoor children’s program at the Southborough Library no longer conflicts with hunting for eggs.

Now families can participate in all three events:

SkyRise presents “Secret Agent Splat”
Saturday, April 1, 11:00 – 11:45 am
Southborough Library, main floor

The Southborough Library is hosting an interactive story time for ages 4-9 led by SkyRise Theater. It will include games and activities inspired by the book“ Secret Agent Splat” by Rob Scotton.

The event is free thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Southborough Library. But registration is required. To sign up, click here. (If online registration is closed, you can email Children’s Librarian Kim Ivers at kivers@southboroughma.com to ask if there is room for your kids to sign up.)

ARHS NHS Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, April 2, 9:00 am
Algonquin Regional High School, football field, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough

Algonquin’s National Honor Society welcomes Northborough and Southborough Families to a free Easter Egg hunt. Attendees who can afford to are encouraged to bring a food pantry contribution.)

The event includes an obstacle course, games, photo booth with the bunny, and an arts & craft station.

Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required to help students prepare. For details, see dedicated post.

Kindergroup’s Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 8, 11:00 am
St. Mark’s field (corner of routes 30 & 85)

The Southborough community is invited to a free egg hunt and to meet the Easter Bunny. No registration is required. (Attendees who can afford to are encouraged to bring a contribution for the Southborough Food Pantry.)

This spring’s fun includes a petting zoo and food vendors. In addition to candy filled eggs, kids can hunt for the golden eggs to win a special prize basket. Gubankian florist will also be at the event selling bunches of Tulips. Click here for details.
