Southborough Rotary and St. Mark’s School are hosting Free Open Skate sessions this winter. The community is invited to enjoy ice skating on two Sunday afternoons with free refreshments.

The invitation shares that the event is intended to be “Fun with a Purpose”:

While the event is free to attend, the Southborough Rotary is asking participants to help combat local food insecurity. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to the rink. All items collected will benefit the Southborough Food Pantry, continuing the Rotary’s mission of community service.

Free Skate flyerAdditionally, attendees can make financial donations to support the pantry (cash or via Venmo).

Music will be playing on the main rink speakers & hot chocolate & donuts will be served (while supplies last!).

The Rotary Club’s announcement touted its role in bringing back the opportunity that the private school used to regularly make available on a regular basis:

A Tradition of Service
For years, Southborough Recreation and St. Mark’s School partnered to provide indoor skating during winter breaks. The Rotary Club of Southborough is proud to step in and revitalize this opportunity, adding it to their roster of community-building events like the Spring Food Truck Festival, Earth Day Clean Up, the Pumpkin Stroll, and Oktoberfest.
