The Southborough Library is holding a reception next week in honor of the Southborough native who’s work is currently on exhibit at the library.

11 years ago, the library first agreed to exhibit sketches by a Southborough resident and Algonquin senior Tina Dobberpuhl. Since then, she has continued to develop as an artist.

Dobberpuhl is currently a local “Fine art photographer focusing on landscapes, travel, macro and creative images”.

Last month, the library announced the exhibit of her work on the walls in the area of the library’s main floor stacks. On Facebook the library promoted:

Tina’s work is engaging and breathtaking – we are happy to have her on exhibit

On Instagram, Dobberpuhl described the exhibit:

I’m happy to announce my first solo fine art print exhibit! The Southboro library has 14 of my original images on display until the end of April 2026. The major themes are ice detail and altered reality.

The reception will include “light refreshments”. No registration is required.

Dobberpuhl’s photos include some images that inject elements of fantasy into otherwise realistic nature shots. In an Instagram caption for a photo that imagines butterfly wings in place of elephant ears, she explains:

No AI was used for the images, just Photoshop and my wild imagination!

Below is a Facebook post from the Library highlighting the displayed works:

You can also find a few of these (without glare on the glass) in the artist’s Instagram feed:

  • The Elephant’s Ears shows off the example of her “wild imagination”.
