Next weekend, the Southborough Library is offering a free workshop for crafters 12 years old and up. Participants will use collage art to craft a colorful box they can use to store mementos.
Space is limited (with only five spots left as of early this afternoon).
The workshop will take place on Saturday, May 30th from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.
The library promotes:
This art program is not your average collage class . We will be using an 8-inch kraft box and unifying our outer world (the outside of the box) with our interior vision for our life (inside the box) and create a multi media colorful assemblage. Collage is the perfectly imperfect art technique that allows us to have play with color and texture.
We will begin with a few journaling prompts to spark inspiration and consider how our hopes, dreams and passions in life speak to us. Next, we will create layers using art tools such as paper punches, stamps, printed inspirational text, colorful printed images, lovely art papers and more. This crafted box will be a work in progress as students can add photos, mementos, touchstones that hold meaning for them going forward. Registration is required. For ages 12 and up. Limited to 18 participants.
This program has applied for support from the Southborough Cultural Arts, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
