The Worcester Red Sox is again holding a Boroughs night and invited Southborough residents to dominate the stands at their friendly “Town Takeover” themed event. To help motivate our community, $5 from each “Southborough” ticket sold to the July 22nd game will be donated to the Town Scholarship Fund.
Four years ago, the WooSox began pitting neighboring towns against each other in a friendly competition to see who could drum up the biggest turnout. The marketing has shifted to focus more on civic pride than home town rivalries to gin up excitement.
The Woo Sox promote:
Join us at Polar Park on Wednesday July 22nd at 6:45pm to gather with your fellow Southborough residents, show your civic pride, and enjoy an exciting night of WooSox baseball! . . .
This is sure to be the talk of the town, so don’t miss out! Come rep your town, support a great local cause, and be part of something bigger than the game!
The team hosts numerous Town Takeover events through the season. At the end of the season, the town with the largest turnout for the season (through their takeover event) will be rewarded with a trophy and special recognition.
On Wednesday, July 22nd at 6:45 pm, the WooSox’ Town Takeover are dedicated to the Boroughs of Southborough, Northborough, Marlborough, and Westborough (plus Hardwick & New Braintree). (The other Towns all have their own selected charities.)
Click here to buy tickets that support Southborough. (Don’t purchase through their generic game schedule, or it won’t credit Southborough with the ticket sales.) with prices ranging from $26.86 – $30.97 each. (Note, this year, there is no promise of a credit towards concession sales.)
The WooSox also encourage anyone with a group of 15 or more to reach out about how to get “more involved in the action!” and for local businesses to use it as a sponsorship opportunity. (Learn more here.)
The July 22nd home game at Polar Park will pit the Worcester Red Sox against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. For more details on the event, click here. (And for parking info, click here.)
