It’s not a sports camp, but I learned about another clinic for girls interested in playing sports this summer. The program is led by the players and coach of Algonquin’s varsity Field Hockey team.
Like the clinic they led last summer, this one is a single afternoon session, limited to girls entering 5th – 8th grade.
It will take place Thursday, August 27th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. The program will be held on the Algonquin GonkPlex multi-purpose field.
Coach Dan Welty is teaming up with his players to run this clinic, which is open to all playing abilities. The cost is $35 per player.
The team boasts that they were 2024 & 2023 Mid-Wach League Champions and made it to the Elite 8 in 2024 & 2023.*
Payments are to the ARHS Boosters, to directly benefit the team.

*(That doesn’t mean the team performed poorly last fall. In 2025 there wasn’t a Mid-Wach League championship tourney to compete in. And for the Division 1 state tourney, ARHS team was bracketed in the Sweet 16 against the top seed team that would ultimately win the title.)
