It was an amazing run for the Southboro Little League team, but it all came to an end today with a loss to Fairfield, CT in the final game of round-robin play. The boys played their hearts out, holding the lead for most of the game. Fairfield powered back in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game, and then won in the seventh by a score of 9-8. Southboro fell behind early against the undefeated Cumberland, RI team, and despite their efforts were never able to catch back up. Cumberland won the game by a score of 15-5.
