Reported drowning of Framingham resident in Southborough on Sunday afternoon (Updated)

Last night, Southborough Public Safety officials reported a drowning that occurred in a pond off of Crystal Pond Road yesterday afternoon. The victim has only been identified as a 43 year old from Framingham.

SPD: Warning & Tips about “Senior Assassins”

Police are asking ARHS students to follow safety rules, plus alerting residents about the annual game in play.

Southborough Police are notifying the public that Algonquin’s “Senior Assassins” are on the loose again this spring. 

The SPD wants to make the community aware to avoid unwarranted “suspicious behaviour” concerns and reports.

Public Safety News: Training & Regionalization

Special police training for "high-threat situations". Plus an update on dispatch & fire regionalization efforts

Southborough is one of four local towns whose police officers will receive special training this spring to prepare ” to respond to critical incidents like shootings, school violence, and other high-threat situations”.  

I’m sharing news on that along with an update on plans to regionalize Southborough’s dispatch department. Plus, for readers who may have missed the topic (buried in another story), I’ll update on a potential study of the regionalizing the fire department. Select Board and State Legislators discuss fiscal challenges & support

Senator Eldridge and Rep Donaghue updated the board, And the board asked for help with efforts including a study of regionalizing fire departments.

State Senator Jamie Eldridge and State Representative Kate Donaghue joined the Southborough Select Board on March 3rd. The board was looking for an update on the state budget outlook, local aid, and issues affecting our town. But the main purpose was clearly to seek support for short and long term efforts to help reduce Southborough property tax bills.

Select Board members discussed needs for more consistent road maintenance funding, studying regionalization of Fire Departments, stalled legislation to increase tax/PILOT payments from non-profits, and more. SPD asking people to stay home due to white out conditions

Around 7:30 am this morning, the Southborough Police Department posted about the dangerous whiteout conditions caused by today’s storm. It included the request/warning: “If you do not need to be on the road, please stay home! If you do not have an AWD or 4WD vehicle- you will not be able to make it to your destination.”
