Southborough will have two youth football leagues next season

When the Northboro-Southborough T-Hawks made the decision to split from Pop Warner last month, things got a bit ugly. The two organizations reached a settlement late last week on how to split $90K in assets and $30K in equipment, with both saying they’ll run football and cheer leagues in Northborough and Southborough next year. Algonquin gymnastics team takes the state championship!

Big congratulations go out to the Algonquin girls gymnastics team on taking home the state championship title this weekend. The girls capped off an undefeated season by handily beating Wellesley and top-seeded Acton-Boxborough for the win. MWDN: Northboro-Southboro football team switching leagues faces lawsuit

Emails about this situation have been making the rounds in Southborough lately, so some of you may have heard about it already. The Northboro/Southboro Youth Football and Cheer Association has decided to switch from Pop Warner to join the the Central Massachusetts American Youth Football and Cheer Conference. Southborough brothers curl for gold in Alaska

Unless it’s an Olympic year, curling isn’t a sport that gets much attention. So you may not realize the MetroWest is home to a small but vibrant curling community. Some of those curlers — my husband among them — hail from Southborough. Two Southborough curlers, brothers Stephen and Korey Dropkin, will compete in the U.S. Junior National Curling Championship starting this weekend in Fairbanks, Alaska.
