Southborough police warn of phone scam

From the Southborough Police Department Facebook page: We have been informed that some residents have been receiving phone calls from an unknown person(s), claiming that they are doing a fundraiser for the Southborough Police Association. W. Marie (Donnelly) Scott, a resident of Southborough for 45 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 surrounded by her family. Marie was a graduate of Wellesley High School and Chandler Business School. She enjoyed mah jongg, word searches, and cooking for her family. Information session to talk ‘green communities’ on January 19

In 2008 Massachusetts passed the Green Communities Act. It’s legislation that encourages municipalities to adopt clean energy practices in exchange for increased local aid. Since then, more than 80 cities and towns in the state have been designated Green Communities. Southborough’s Green Technology and Recycling Committee thinks our town should consider becoming one of them.
