Poll: Are you still following the Little League tournament?

I can’t say I’ve ever watched much Little League play before this summer, and only ever had vague notions of the Little League World Series in years past. But this year, things are different. I don’t know about you, but thanks to the amazing run by our hometown boys, I now feel surprisingly invested in the New England championships, even though our team is no longer in it. Board asks developer to further scale back Woodland Meadows 40B

When the Woodland Meadows 40B housing development off Oak Hill Road was first proposed, it was going to be a 4-story, 43-unit complex. When the developer was unable to get approval for the project due to stormwater concerns, he scaled it back to 16 townhouses. Heartbreak in Bristol: Southboro Little Leaguers eliminated

It was an amazing run for the Southboro Little League team, but it all came to an end today with a loss to Fairfield, CT in the final game of round-robin play. The boys played their hearts out, holding the lead for most of the game. Fairfield powered back in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game, and then won in the seventh by a score of 9-8. Results from today’s Little League game against Rhode Island

Southboro fell behind early against the undefeated Cumberland, RI team, and despite their efforts were never able to catch back up. Cumberland won the game by a score of 15-5. For the past four months, the Planning Board has been trying to hire a new town planner after former Town Planner Vera Kolias resigned last April. The board met with Selectmen last week to talk about the position, in a conversation that was at times heated.
