There will be a Select Board race. Plus, there will be an unopposed changing of the guard for a few positions.

Now that the deadline for running for office has passed, I’m updating on who is running in a contested race, who is taking on a new role (or leaving their seats), and the upcoming forum for candidates to answer voters’ questions. Town Meeting to vote on making the Town Clerk an appointed position (Updated)

The Article is proposed by the Town Clerk as he looks towards retirement this year. If passed, a ballot question would follow.

When Town Clerk Jim Hegarty spoke to the Select Board and Advisory Committee on Tuesday, he quipped that he was there to talk himself out of a job.
