Bag some books on Wednesday

The Friends of the Southborough Library is holding a “fill a bag” clearance book sale on Wednesday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the library. For $5 you get a grocery bag and as many books as you can fit in it. Titles include fiction, non-fiction, hard cover and paperback.

Toy donation at the Fire Department

The Southborough Fire Department is sponsoring a toy drive this holiday season. Drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Fire Department now through December 17th. Toys will be distributed to families in need through Southborough Youth and Family Services and the Framingham Salvation Army.

The historic South Union School

Did you know the South Union School (now the Arts Center) used to house a branch of the local library? Or that it was built in 1912 by well-known architects Cooper and Bailey who built a number of area schools in the early 1900’s? Or that it’s an example of Classical Revival architecture?

Planning Board gives go-ahead to Fay Primary School project

The Goodnow House on Middle Road would be incorporated into the new Fay Primary School complex.
In a special meeting last night, the Planning Board voted to approve the Fay Primary School project. If you’re having trouble keeping the Fay construction projects straight, this is the one on Middle Road that incorporates the existing Goodnow House.
