Future of the Country Gourmet remains uncertain

Selectmen last month approved the transfer of the liquor license from the Country Gourmet on Framingham Road to Shohdy Ziada who owns Turnpike Liquors on Route 9.
Ziada told selectmen he was going to establish a convenience store on the property, but apparently those plans are still up in the air.

Friends of Southborough Recreation open house

Algonquin sports news

It was a tough way to end the season for the Algonquin boys tennis, boys baseball, and boys and girls lacrosse teams, with each losing championship matches in the past week. But the girls tennis team still has a shot at the state finals. They play Wellesley today at 3:30 pm at Shrewsbury High.

Over 700 National Grid customers lost power this morning

I lost power again this morning, and so did 767 other National Grid customers in Southborough. The lights were off — more distressingly, the coffee maker was off — for only about 30 minutes, but even so, it’s the second significant outage in less than a month.
Is this considered normal for National Grid in this area?
