Tuesday, October 27, 2015

  • Trail walk for active seniors (9:00 – about 10:00 am): Hike on Southborough’s Bay Circuit Trail, on an even pathway along the Reservoir.. Entrance is at Clemmens & Nichols off of Pine Hill Road. (Park on left side of Clemmens before Nichols.) Please wear long pants and comfortable shoes. To sign up or for more information, call the center at (508) 229‐4453.
  • Knitting/Crocheting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center, Cordaville Road: Come join a group of ladies working on their own creations and discussing possible community projects. Stop by for a cup of coffee and visit with the group or join right in.
  • Jr T-Hawks Skyzone fundraiser (3:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, 290 Turnpike Road, Westborough: Northboro-Southboro Youth Football and Cheer Association fundraiser. If they get 50 jumpers, they get 25% of the profits for that day. Sign up on line for your jump time and don’t forget to say you are with the T-Hawks. Click here for details.
  • 100 Years of Quilting in America (7:00 pm) @ The Sibley House, 13 Parkman Street, Westborough: Presented by Southborough resident Mary Walter, a National Quilting Association certified judge and curator of numerous exhibits including the New England Quilt Museum and The Whistler House Museum of Art.   • Neary Family Literacy Night flyerNeary Family Literacy Night (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Neary School: SOS fundraiser with Scholastic book sale pizza, ice cream social and fun family literacy activities. Click flyer for details.
  • Author Night – Peter Zheutlin (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: An evening with the author of the upcoming book Rescue Road: One Man, Thirty Thousand Dogs, and a Million Miles on the Last Hope Highway. See dedicated post for details.

  • Trick or Treating at the Library (10:30 am – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat at the library anytime during these hours. Drop in for Halloween themed crafts and games.
  • Early Dismissal of Finn and Woodwards Schools (12:00 pm): Parent Teacher conferences take place this afternoon
  • Halloween Fun House (5:00 – 7:00 pm) @ St Anne Church, Boston Road: The St. Anne Junior High youth ministry group is putting on a Halloween fun house and party. Admission to the event is free with the donation of a non perishable food item which will be given to the Southborough food pantry. All ages are welcome.
  • Scouting for Food – route selection (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Pilgrim Church, Common Street:
  • SYFS’ Halloween Party (7:00 – 8:30 pm) @ Finn School cafeteria, 60 Richards Road: Southborough Youth and Family Services’ annual party for kids 12 and under Admission costs $5 per child or $15 per family. See dedicated post for details.

  • Scouting for Food – route selection (8:00 – 10:00 am) @ Pilgrim Church, Common Street: All town scouts, come pick up your routes for the food drive. (These are the streets for which scouts are responsible for posting flyers on mailboxes during that day, then returning to on 11/7 to pick up contributions to the Food Pantry.)
  • Sudbury Reservoir Trail Cleanup (9:00 am – 12:00 pm): The Southborough Trails Committee is looking for volunteers to help with trail cleanup, from Route 85 to White Bagley Road. See dedicated post for details.
  • Saturdays at Fay – Halloween concert for kids (10:00 am – 11:00 am) @ Fay School’s Primary School at 25 Middle Road: Kids 2-8, wear your costume and join children’s musician, Stacey Peasley for singing, dancing, and a Halloween. Space is limited, so click here to register.

Updated (10/27/15 8:20 am): I just learned that the ARHS College Fair took place on September 26th, not October 26th.
