Southborough Police Department

  • Police Officer (full-time)
    Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: be a U.S. citizen; a high school graduate (college degree preferred); must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license; be a graduate or currently enrolled in a FULL-TIME Police Academy as prescribed by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Council or an out of state academy equivalent, if certified by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Council.Application due August 25, 2017 at 4:00 pm; starting date – Fall 2017. Town of Southborough

  • Principal Department Assistant (35 hrs/wk) – Application due today – July, 12th
    The Southborough Building Department seeks qualified applicants for a 35 hour per week Department Assistant. Position requires knowledge of Mass. General Laws, related municipal policies, building and zoning codes and office operations. Must be a graduate of high school, have five years’ work experience in an administrative setting and/or one to two years of college.

    Duties include assisting the public with inquiries, accepting building permit applications and issuing permits for wiring, plumbing, gas, as well as other departmental permits; maintaining all department records; and filing/scheduling department inspections; as well as other responsibilities as assigned by the Building Commissioner. Applicant must have the ability to appropriately deal with the general public, local officials and employees and focus on superior customer service delivery. Excellent technology skills are required; knowledge of GeoTMS is preferred. Starting hourly rate is $22.00/hour. Please apply online by July 12, 2017.   • Assistant Town Accountant (full-time)
    The Town seeks applicants for a FT Assistant Town Accountant. This position requires a flexible person experienced in record-keeping and organizational skills. Duties include: review and process weekly payables ensuring all are in compliance with appropriate statutes and regulations, liaison to town departments and vendors, assist in proving cash receipts and monitoring departmental budgets for accuracy. Statutory backup to Town Accountant in his/her absence. Experience in MS Office is essential; familiarity with VADAR financial software and municipal finance procedures is strongly preferred; customer service excellence is essential. Position requires an Associate Degree in accounting, business administration or related field; 1-3 years of professional experience preferred.
