APTO invites you: Principal Meet & Greet; Dining for dollars; and seeking College Fair volunteers (Updated – again)

The Algonquin Parents & Teacher Organization is promoting its upcoming events. They asked me to help them spread the word.

Welcome Back Night

Next week, they’ll be hosting a meet and greet for parents to talk to Algonquin Principal Dr. Sarah Walsh. Surprisingly, it’s not at the high school.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 24th at 7:00 pm at the Northborough Library. Refreshments and pizza will be served.

APTO Welcome Back night flyerALL ARHS PARENTS/GUARDIANS WELCOME!
FRESHMAN PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE ESPECIALLY ENCOURAGED!

We are honored to have Dr. Sara Walsh as our main speaker. Meet and greet Dr. Walsh and other parents

There will be a lot of opportunity for questions, input and discussion. This is where your suggestions are needed! . . .

RSVP not a requirement but is appreciated for planning purposes.

You can RSVP here. (A donations of $5 is suggested. You can take care of that online here.)

Restaurant “FUNdraising” nights

Dining for dollars type fundraisers will be held monthly through the school year.  On these nights, the specified restaurant kick over a portion of your dinner bill to the APTO:

This is an exciting opportunity to spend time with the family, take the night off from cooking, and help support your school at the same time!

These will usually be on the 4th Thursday of the month from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, with some schedule exceptions. The fundraiser needs to be referenced, and a flyer may be required. (If so, it will be posted to the APTO website.)

Mooyah-fundraiser flyer - updatedSo far, three restaurants have already been scheduled.

The first one up this fall is Mooyah in Northborough on Thursday, September 26th, from 4:00 -9:00 pm. No flyer is needed, but you do need to mention the fundraiser at the register when you order your meal. (Reference the APTO.)

The burger joint is located at 10010 Shops Way in Northborough.

Mooyah’s focus is burgers, fries and shakes. But they do also offer a “loaded salad” for those looking for a healthier option. (I assume you can “hold” some of the ingredients if it’s too loaded for your liking.)

You can check out the menu and other details here. (Just don’t use the website or your phone to place your order. Only orders placed at the counter will count.)

APTO events flyer fall 2019Volunteer for the College Fair

Algonquin is hosting it’s annual Post-Secondary Fair on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6:30-8:00pm. Representatives from more than 90 colleges will be present.

The APTO is in need of volunteers to welcome the college representatives to Algonquin & help them get set-up. Can you volunteer an hour of your time from 5:00pm-6:15pm?

You can sign up to help out here.

Either way, parents of upper classmen will want to save this to their calendars. The fair runs from 6/6:30 – 8:00 pm at the school.*

Get involved

The APTO is still looking for more members to fill leadership roles. For more information on the organization, check out their website here.

Updated (9/20/19 7:53 am): The APTO whipped up a flyer for the Mooyah fundraiser which I inserted. They also specified to reference the APTO (not Algonquin PTO), so I made that edit.

Updated (9/20/19 1:57 pm): The APTO gave me a new link for donations, since the old one had apparently timed out.

Updated (9/240/19 10:33 am): The flyer for Mooyah had the wrong date on it. As stated in the post, the Mooyah fundraiser is this Thursday. The APTO contributed an updated flyer.

Updated (9/29/19 12:37 pm): The ARHS calendar and APTO website list the College Fair time as starting at 6:00 pm, (not 6:30 as on the flyer.)
