Starting a week from tonight, Southborough Recreation is offering another way for the community to de-stress.

The latest virtual offering is a free, weekly Meditation class. The program is open to anyone ages 16+, not just residents. (Although you do have to register on the Rec website to sign up.)

The Tuesday evening classes begin May 19th at 5:30 – 6:15 pm . They’ll be held through June 16th. The sessions will be run by The Art of Living Foundation’s Vinita Deodhar:

The weekly meditation sessions will be conducted by senior instructors with the Art of Living Foundation. In these sessions you will learn how just a few minutes of simple breathing and meditation can help maintain mind-body wellness and great energy levels!

Each session will include:
1. An interactive discussion on wellness topics (key sources of energy, how to build immunity, diet tips, nature of mind, etc.)
2. Guided breathing techniques
3. Guided meditation
4. Q&A

Instructor bio:
Vinita Deodhar has been teaching the Art of Living breath and meditation programs in the Greater Boston area since 2009. She is also a certified yoga teacher and conducts yoga, breath, and meditation classes for various community centers as well as companies. Vinita has been meditating for 15+ years now and she believes that it is the happiness and calm found through her practices that gives her the energy to successfully balance her professional career, family life, and volunteering activities.
