Conservation report sparks controversy

Controversy over commercial development in Southborough is nothing new, and here’s the latest. A new report by the Mass Audubon Society lists two EMC-owned properties as the highest-priority for town conservation efforts. Other properties on the list include land off Pine Hill Road owned by the Rousseau family, along with parcels owned by St. Mark’s and Harvard University.

The report was commissioned by the Community Preservation Committee. It is not endorsed by the Board of Selectmen, who are concerned the results of the report may be misinterpreted.
