Southville Road home broken into last night

I just received word that a home on Southville Road was broken into last night around 8:30 pm. The burglar or burglars reportedly entered through a basement window.

Last week Southborough Police warned residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity after a rash of thefts. Sergeant Sean James said at the time that five homes had been broken into in the past several months. All break-ins occured in the evening hours.

No word on whether this most recent break-in is related to the others, but the advice from police still stands: be sure to secure your homes and call police immediately if notice anything or anyone suspicious in your neighborhood. The Southborough Police can be reached at 508-485-2147, or by calling 9-1-1.

Do you know if these people are breaking in when the homeowner is home, or when the house is empty? Also, what items are they targeting?

They seem to be breaking into houses that appear to have no one at home. The house on Southville Rd had a piggy bank taken and some work clothes!
