New pizza place to replace former deli on Framingham Road?

Last month the owner of the Framingham Road building that formerly housed the Benchmark Deli and most recently the Town Line Deli told the Metrowest Daily News he was looking to sell. But he appears to have changed his mind.

Earlier this month a My Southborough reader noticed the for sale sign on the building had been taken down, and last week a sign for a new pizza place called Pizza 19 went up. The sign says “coming soon,” but no word on when they might open.

Assuming their name is indicative of their menu, Pizza 19 will compete in an already crowded Southborough pizza market. Our town is home to four other pizza joints (that I can think of): Southborough House of Pizza on Main Street, Eros Gourmet in the Town Center Plaza, Domino’s on Route 9, and Mama Rosa’s on Southville Road.

I’d rather see a good bakery!

The pizza in this town sucks! If they actually made some decent pizza I think this place would stay in business for longer than 6 months.

I agree, there is no good pizza in Southborough. A quality, Italian style pizza would be great!

There’s an overdose of pizza places. Another cafe would fit the bill.

There’s an overdose of really bad pizza in this town,.. I would welcome a good pizza joint. I’m not getting my hopes up though,… as the last 6 or 7 businesses in that place have failed.

Jones’n,
Try Eros. Their small thin crust pizza always tastes good to me.

Maybe they’ll decide to paint the blue line on the house white, and then the house will resemble an Italian flag. JK. Sort of.

Yeah, where is a pizza like the one you could get at Andreas? It was a good restaurant with great veal parm.

The people there are friendly and polite, the pizza is the best I have ever had. I have been in town for over 20 years and I thought that this day would never come!!! Finally I don’t have to leave town to get a fantastic pizza. Thank you for coming to town.
