Career Discovery Camp at Assabet Valley in August

A summer opportunity from Assabet for kids going into 6th and 7th grade:

Once again, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School will be offering a Career Discovery Camp for local students who will be entering grades 6 and 7 in September, 2011. Students can discover their passion and explore a technical program for the week with the experts. Campers can choose additional traditional camp activities (for example, archery, fishing, biking, zip line, yoga, etc.) to complete their Career Discovery Camp experience.

The camp runs from 8 AM to 3 PM the week of August 1st through 4th. The price is $250 for the week. The technical programs to choose from include Art, Auto Collision Technology, Biotechnology (CSI Assabet!), Culinary Arts, Design & Visual Communications, Metal Fabrication, and Precision Machining-Robotics.

There is a limit of 10 campers per program. (Some programs may not run if insufficient enrollment). A registered nurse will be on staff during camp hours, and all camp activities will be conducted and supervised by licensed instructors. Campers must wear closed toe shoes or sneakers. Lunch will be provided on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Transportation is NOT provided. An Extended Day is available for only $10 per hour.
