Father Thomas Garlick, pastor at St. Anne Church, has died

Father Thomas Garlick, pastor at St. Anne Church in Southborough, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. He was 61.

A Fitchburg native, Father Garlick joined St. Anne’s parish in July 2009, shortly after celebrating 25 years in the priesthood. Representatives from St. Anne’s said funeral arrangements are being made, but no details are available yet.

In an email to parishioners, Cynthia de la Pina of St. Anne’s Office of Religious Education, said Bishop Robert J. McManus visited St. Anne’s on Sunday morning to offer his condolences.

The daily mass schedule will continue as planned this week (Monday – Thursday at 9:00 am). The missionary priest Father Robert Nicoletti was at St. Anne’s for this morning’s mass, and Father Jack Kelly will be there for the remainder of the week and weekend.

St. Anne’s Parish Office will also be open Monday through Friday 9:30 am – 3:30 pm as scheduled.

I’ll post more information on funeral arrangements once it becomes available.

Update 5/24: Information on calling hours and funeral arrangements can be found here.
