Fire damages Mauro’s Cafe in downtown Southborough

A number of Southborough residents had to find someplace else to get their usual cup of joe this morning. That’s because Mauro’s Village Cafe in downtown Southborough is closed today after a fire last night damaged the kitchen area.

Interim Fire Chief Michael Dunne said the fire started in a grease trap. No word on how extensive the damage is, but a sign on the door at Mauro’s says they’ll be closed until further notice.

Main Street was briefly closed to traffic last night as emergency crews responded to the fire.
