Annual ski and snowboard swap at Assabet on Sunday

With snow in the forecast, now seems like a good time to start thinking about the upcoming ski and snowboard season. If you need to gear up, there will be a couple of opportunities to do so in the coming weeks.

On Sunday Assabet will hold their annual ski and snowboard swap at the school. On November 5, the Algonquin ski team will hold its annual ski and snowboard sale at St. Anne Church in Southborough. Note that the swap sponsored in past years by the Southborough Recreation Department won’t be happening this year.

Here are more details on the Assabet sale on Sunday.

For those of you who are already chanting “Let it snow, let it snow”, mark Sunday, October 30th on your calendar! The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School’s Annual Ski and Snowboard Sale is scheduled from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the school’s cafeteria at 215 Fitchburg Street, Marlborough.

If you’re in the market to purchase or upgrade skiing or snowboarding equipment and clothing before the season begins, this is the perfect opportunity. There will be two dealers participating this year; Strand’s from Worcester and White’s from Princeton. Both new and used clothing and equipment for downhill, cross country, and snowboarding will be on display and reasonably priced.

To register to sell your own equipment and clothing, please arrive between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM and speak with Wayne Coulson. You set your own price and you will only pay commission on the items that sell. This event is sponsored by the AV Sliders club at Assabet Valley, and all proceeds go to the club’s transportation fund. For more information or directions to the school, please call Coulson at 508-485- 9430, ext. 1449.
