James J. “Jim” Serra, 51, of Bellingham, MA, died on October 21, 2011 in Rehoboth, MA in an automobile accident. He was the beloved husband of Donna J. (Ferris) Serra and the loving father of Amber J. Serra of Bellingham. Born in Marlborough, MA on April 17, 1960, he was the son of Margaret T. (Back) Serra of Largo, FL and the late Samuel D. Serra, Jr. He was the brother of Anthony Serra and his wife Susan of Southborough, MA, Joseph Serra of Largo, FL, Margaret Ritz and her husband Robert of Mocksville, NC, Linda Migliozzi and her husband Joseph of Tampa, FL and Kathleen Minkle and her husband David of North Oxford, MA, and the late Samuel D. Serra, III. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
A resident of Bellingham for 19 years formerly of Uxbridge, MA, Woonsocket, RI and Northborough, MA where he was raised and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School Class of 1978. Jim worked in shipping and receiving for American Acoustical Products of Holliston, MA for the past 2 years and formerly worked for Data General in Southborough for over 22 years. Jim also worked part time for the past 15 years for Vegas Time Associates of Hopedale, MA. An avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan, he loved cooking and spending time with his family, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 12:00 Noon at CARTIER’S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA . Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery, Center St., Bellingham. Visiting time on Saturday prior to funeral service from 10:30AM – !2:00 Noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
