Town Administrator: Contact National Grid if you’re still without power

In a statement released moments ago, Town Administrator Jean Kitchen said she is hopeful power will be restored to the remaining Southborough residents today. She said the best way to make sure you get your power back is to call National Grid with an outage report, even if you’ve already done so.

Here’s the full statement from Kitchen:

After our conference call with National Grid at 11am this morning (Tuesday November 1), it appears that 90% of Southborough has had power restored. If you are still without power, please contact National Grid (even if you have done so in the past) and let them know you still do not have power. They are keeping a master list from which they are working with to restore power, so it is important that they have your specific address. You also have the option to contact our police/fire dispatch at 508 485-2147 who will relay the information to National Grid. You may also stop by the town house and let me know and I will pass on the information. National Grid and tree crews are still working in Town so hopefully more residents will have power restored today.

Our recreation center, located at the South Union School, 21 Highland Street has power and heat. Please feel free to use the building to warm up and recharge phones, computers etc.

The phone number to report National Grid outages is 1-800-465-1212.

Has anyone heard why Kidder Lane is still without power? I called Nationsl Grid twice this afternoon and was told the estimated time is still Thursday at 11:45pm. There is power on rt .9 on one side of us and on Woodland on the other. The tree was cleared from the road this morning. They don’t seem to have an answer.

I had an automated call around 3:30 today from National Grid telling me that my power was back on. Perhaps it was a new tactic – tell people their power is on and they will believe it to be so! I called back to tell them we were (still are) without power in the Breakneck Hill area.
