Halloween parade will not be rescheduled, but the library is celebrating Halloween all week

The annual Firefighters Association Halloween Parade originally scheduled for this past Sunday afternoon was one of the first casualties of the weekend’s snowstorm. But with trick-or-treating in Southborough moved to Saturday, November 5, several of you asked whether the parade might be rescheduled as well.

I checked with the Fire Department and, unfortunately, they won’t be able to hold the parade on Saturday because department members will be attending a previously scheduled firefighters memorial service. The department has decided to officially cancel the parade for this year.

The Southborough Library also had their Halloween plans disrupted by the storm. Without power the library was closed on Monday, which meant no trick-or-treating there for the kids. To make up for it, the library has extended their Halloween celebration throughout the week. Stop by any time through Saturday for crafts, games, and trick-or-treating in the Children’s Room. Kids are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes.
