Obituary: Antoinette (Lucente) Beneduce – January 2, 2012

Mrs. Antoinette (Lucente) Beneduce, 97, of Milford, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Countryside Healthcare of Milford, after a period of declining health. She was the wife of Joseph A. Beneduce, who died in 2004.

Mrs. Beneduce was born in Flushing, N.Y., the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (DeDonna) Lucente. She attended public schools in Flushing, N.Y. and had worked as a seamstress for more than 20 years. Mrs. Beneduce had been a resident of Milford since 1978, and prior to that had resided in Valley Stream, N.Y. She enjoyed her family, was a devoted grandmother, and loved to cook.

Mrs. Beneduce is survived by one daughter, Carol, wife of Michael Antino, of Milford; one sister, Mary Harold of Cartaret, N.J.; five grandchildren, Daniel Burzinski of Ridgewood, N.J., Leigh-Anne Burzinski of Morristown, N.J., Michele, wife of John Bird of Milford, Michael Antino and his wife, Andrea, of Southborough, and Meghan, wife of David Kirby of Upton; nine great-grandchildren, Alexandra Bird, Abigail Bird, Zoe Bird, Grace Antino, Jayne Antino, Henry Antino, Emily Kirby, Leah Kirby and John Kirby; one son-in-law, Walter Burzinski and his wife, Maryse, of Warwick, N.Y. Mrs. Beneduce was the mother of Linda Burzinski, who died in 1997, and the sister of the late Anna Citarella, Joseph Lucente, Angelo Lucente, Steven Lucente, Dominic Lucente and Vito Lucente.

Her funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford (, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter St., Milford. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Milford. A visiting hour will be held Wednesday, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., prior to her funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Countryside Healthcare of Milford Resident Activities Fund, 1 Countryside Drive, Milford, MA 01757.
