Get in the act: Southborough Recreation offers acting class for kids and teens

Does you child dream of being on stage? If so, check out the upcoming acting and audition classes offered by Southborough Recreation through a partnership with Boston Casting Media Performance. Kids Audition Technique ($99/pp)
Ages: 5 to 11
Dates: Saturdays starting January 12
Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Students will learn about the details of audition ettiquette as well as script breakdown, cold reading, improvised auditioning, character development, and more.

Teens Acting for Film and TV ($149/pp)
Ages: 13 to 17
Dates: Saturdays starting January 12
Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Learn what it takes to be an actor through film, television, and commercial script work, as well as improvisational exercies. The course will culminate in a final performance for parents, as well as a marketing seminar on the in’s and out’s of the business.

Advanced Acting for Teens ($149/pp)
Prerequisite: Acting for Film and TV or previous acting experience
Ages: 13 to 17
Dates: Saturdays starting January 12
Time: 12:30 – 2:00 pm
This class is a continuation of the first where students will build and expand on the knowledge learned, with the focus on individual growth through the process of performance and critique among their peers.
