Gun safety talk at Southborough Library on Thursday night

On Thursday, June 13, at 7:00 p.m.,Dr. Louis Fazen, Chairman of Southborough’s Board of Health will continue his Public Health talk series at the library.  This week, he will adress “Reducing Gun Violence and Promoting Gun Safety”.

Dr. Fazen has recently attended a national conference on the topic.  He plans to talk about important safety concerns and answer questions.

When the talk was announced in April, it spurred some passionate response from My Southborough commenters.

According to The Metrowest Daily News, The Board of Health “isn’t trying to politicize the topic, [just] looking to educate town residents on gun safety”. MWDN reported:

Chairman Louis Fazen III is scheduled to give a talk on firearm safety [in June] at the library. Fazen said 85 people are shot dead per day in America, a number he said believes could be reduced if there was more public outreach concerning gun safety.
