Police logs (7/19/13-7/21/13): throwing fireworks, fuel spill, strangers walking through yards

Police responded to calls about a driver throwing fireworks and a fuel spill (fortunately, not at the same time and place.) Read about those incidents and more in the latest logs from the Southborough Police Department.

Friday, July 19

  • 0222 hrs- An officer on patrol checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked in front of a Turnpike Road business.
  • 0422 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Deerfoot Road residence.
  • 0440 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Northboro Road business.
  • 0710 hrs- Officers responded to the Turnpike Road area for a report of an erratic operator. The responding officers reported back negative findings.
  • 1007 hrs- Officers attempted to serve court paperwork to a Breakneck Hill resident.
  • 1021 hrs- Officers attempted to serve court paperwork to a Turnpike Road resident.
  • 1033 hrs- Officers attempted to serve court paperwork to a Main Street resident.
  • 1055 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1211 hrs- Officers assisted a Wildwood Drive resident with a domestic issue.
  • 1212 hrs- An officer took a vandalism report from a Stockwell Lane resident (smashed mailbox).
  • 1233 hrs- Solicitors registered at the police station.
  • 1510 hrs- Officers investigated an alarm at a Pine Hill Road residence.
  • 1540 hrs- Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Cordaville Road. Injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 1654 hrs- A medical was reported at a Pleasant Street residence.
  • 1949 hrs- Officers investigated a noise complaint in the area of Parkerville Road.
  • 2031 hrs- A medical was reported at a Boston Road residence.


Saturday, July 20

  • 0019 hrs- Officers responded to Presidential Drive for a report of suspicious vehicles parked in the area. Responding officers reported back that the vehicles checked out ok.
  • 0129 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 0454 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 0552 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Northboro Road business.
  • 0805 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Whistler Lane residence.
  • 1041 hrs- Officers investigated a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked on Pine Hill Road.
  • 1150 hrs- Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Cordaville Road business.
  • 1345 hrs- A resident of Central Street reportedly found their front door partially open upon returning home to their residence. An officer responded to the home and checked the residence for a possible intruder/ break-in. The officer reported back that everything appeared to be in good order inside the home.
  • 1443 hrs- An officer took a vandalism report at the Trottier Middle School.
  • 1520 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 1532 hrs- Officers responded to a Wildwood Drive residence for a domestic dispute in progress. The situation was resolved soon after the officers arrived on scene.
  • 1541 hrs- Officers responded (with the SFD) to a Turnpike Road business to assist with a fuel spill and possible medical.
  • 1705 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 1825 hrs- Officers investigated a report of a suspicious male in the area of Winchester Street. The male party was located and identified as a solicitor. He was spoken to, and advised the officer that he was done for the night.
  • 1838 hrs- Officers responded to a Lovers Lane residence for a complaint of solicitors in the area (walking on lawns).
  • 1901 hrs- An officer on patrol removed a large (filled) trash bag from the middle of Boston Road.
  • 1933 hrs- Officers responded to a Barn Lane residence for a report of solicitors in the homeowner’s backyard. The responding officer advised that the solicitors had left the area.
  • 2127 hrs- Officers responded to the Main Street/ Johnson Road area for a report of a motorist throwing fireworks out of his/her vehicle. The responding officer advised that the vehicle had left the area.

Sunday, July 21

  • 0225 hrs- Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Oregon Road. Injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 0532 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Newton Street business.
  • 0816 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Southville Road.
  • 2002 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 2054 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Darlene Drive residence.
  • 2100 hrs- Ashland Police requested mutual aid from Southborough Police after a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in their town. A Southborough officer closed down Southville Road (at the town line) so that Ashland PD could conduct their investigation.
