The ever-popular Bubble Romp. One of the many amusements at this year’s Summer Nights.
Summer Nights was a blast as usual. I’ve posted below a gallery of the best shots submitted by readers and taken by me.
(Mostly by me. I’d love to get more submissions from readers for future events!)
But first, the Southborough Recreation Department asked me to share the following:
Southborough’s 10th Annual Southborough Summer Nights, this past Saturday, was a tremendous success. Not only was the weather perfect but there was a huge turnout from residents and booths from area businesses. Children enjoyed the amazing talents of our face painters, the bounce houses, and photo booth were a huge hit as were the traditional favorites. The new band – Better Her Than Me – stole the show. We’re thrilled to have them back again next year.
We were thrilled to have more space at the Neary Field and move the Fireworks to Trottier but obviously there were some issues and we feel confident we can successfully resolve them for next year.
A huge thank you to all our sponsors (listed below), our volunteers, Sheri Beran Designs, Police and Fire Department, C.E.R.T.

By evening's end, Summer Nights drew another large crowd.

Rebecca White thought pony rides were worth smiling about.
Whoa, horsey.
Cool rider (and handler).
Brooke Melo preferred a different kind of horsey ride.
Better Her Than Me rocked the venue.
The food court was a big draw.
The picnic area offers a great place to wait for fireworks while catching up with old friends.

Glow sticks light up the evening.
My new camera's "fireworks settings" got a little funky. This was my best shot.
At least it's not behind the trees!
I neglected to mention a huge thanks to Karen Galligan and the DPW crew!! They are always there to help out during any event in our community. THANK YOU!!
