Wednesday, March 19, 2014:

  • Qualifying MassHealth: The Changing Rules of the Road (1:00 – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Recent decisions threaten to make assets in many existing irrevocable trusts countable and subject to spend down rules. New legislation promises to make most regular gifting exempt from MassHealth 5-year look back requirements. This presentation by Attorney Arthur Bergeron of Mirick O’Connell is to explain how you can navigate through these and other changing rules of the road. Free event with refreshments.

Thursday, March 20, 2014:

  • NSPAC’s Parent/Child Civil Rights (9:30 am – 12:30 pm) @ Hudson Town Hall Auditorium, 78 Main Street: Northborough/Southborough and Hudson Special Education PACs invite you to this free presentation by The Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Please RSVP at www.nspac.org to ensure enough handouts. Walk-ins always welcome.
  • The Odd Couple – ARHS winter play (7:00pm) @ ARHS Black Box Theater, Algonquin Regional High School: the famous Neil Simon play, performed by ARHS Dramahawks; $8/student, $10/adult.

Friday, March 21, 2014:

  • Recreational Play (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ South Union Building, 21 Highland Street: The Recreation Department hosts a weekly free playtime in a playspace for Southborough preschoolers and caregivers. Walk, jump or hop into the spacious playspace. Free play with activities that may include mini basketball, hula hoop, riding toy cars, jumping, running, and/or special guests. This is not a drop off program.
  • Free Matinee – Captain Phillips (12:00 – 2:15 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Biographical adventure drama starring Tom Hanks: The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years. PG-13; 2 hours and 14 minutes long. Room will be open at 11:30 for anyone who wants to bring their lunch
  • Divergent Party for Teens (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Public Library: Teens will have an opportunity to discuss the book by Veronica Roth, debate issues, participate in activities and possibly win tickets to the movie. This program is brought to you by the Teen Advisory Group and the Friends of the Southborough Library.
  • The Odd Couple – ARHS winter play (7:00 pm) @ ARHS Black Box Theater, Algonquin Regional High School: the famous Neil Simon play, performed by ARHS Dramahawks; $8/student, $10/adult.

  • Pilgrim Church Mission Trip Fundraiser (6:00 pm) @ Pilgrim Church: Congregation’s annual fundraiser features Men’s Club Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner and Youth Group Raffle & Auction. Dinner cost $40 per family or $12/pp, $10 for seniors & kids 5-12, and free for tots under 5. Childcare Available.
