Taking center stage – summer theater productions in the area

Well, let’s face it – Southborough isn’t the hub of Broadway musicals, but you can catch a few performances this summer at local venues.

Since the Southborough Players dissolved in 2009, our town has been without its own community theater. Fall through spring, school plays might fit the bill. But for the summer months, you may want to venture into neighboring towns.

Framingham Community Theater’s adult comedy this summer is Red Velvet Cake War. Curtains go up this week. Performances are scheduled for the next two Fridays and Saturdays – July 15, 16, 22, & 23 at 8:00 pm and Saturday Matinee July 23 at 2:00 pm at Amazing Things Arts Center 160 Hollis Street, Framingham.

The Westborough Player’s Club will be putting on a musical performed next month. Details have yet to be posted, but Godspell will be performed at The Willows in Westborough August 12, 13, 19, and 20.

Two local kids theater camps have listed their upcoming summer performances.
