Here is a selection of the committee and board meetings for the week along with my selected highlights from the agendas. All these meetings are open to the public, so you’re welcome to stop on by.

  • Municipal Technology Committee, 8:00 am @ Hearing Room, Town House, 17 Common St (agenda) Agenda Highlights: Review of related committee work (Cable & others); Public Safety Tech; strategic tech plan & use surveys
  • Board of Trustees Southborough Library, 6:00 pm @ Cordaville Hall, Room B, 9 Cordaville Rd (agenda) Agenda Highlights: Update on Asst. Director Job description; Library Reconstruction Update; Review initial results of Express Collection pilot
  • Board of Selectmen, 6:00 pm @ Hearing Room, Town House, 17 Common St (agenda, ATM Warrant) Agenda Highlights: Joint Meeting with Town Moderator: Run through of Annual Town Meeting (which will open Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 pm). This annual planning session usually covers details like the planned order of Town Meeting articles, grouping of sponsor presentations, planned counter-presentations, pre-planned motions to amend articles, and the level of votes required for articles to pass – majority or 2/3. Thanks to a new rule, it may also cover any plans to try grouping articles for “consent agenda” votes – Broadcast live and replayed by SAM*

  • Southborough Cultural Arts Council, 7:00 pm @ Knights of Columbus Hall, 1 Main St (agenda) Agenda Highlights: Annual Grant Reception to announce and celebrate this year’s recipients; community welcome
  • Advisory Committee, 7:00 pm @ Hearing Room, Town House, 17 Common St (agenda) Agenda Highlights: Presentation on Town Meeting Articles by Community Preservation Committee and Personnel Board; positions on non-budget warrant articles and FY20 budget – Broadcast live and replayed by SAM*
  • Scholarship Advisory Committee, 7:00 pm @ Country Kitchen/Southborough Senior Center, 9 Cordaville Rd (agenda) Agenda Highlights: Scholarship process 2019: plan application meetings, interview dates, Awards ceremony; Review Financials; Fundraising; request selectmen to reduce # of seats from 9 to 7; recruiting new members

  • Northborough – Southborough Regional School Committee, 7:00 pm @ Algonquin Regional High School Library, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough (agenda, Policies scheduled for 2nd readings) Agenda Highlights: Interview and vote on candidates for a Northborough vacancy on committee [Editor’s Note: Northborough’s Jonetta Choi announced her resignation from the committee last month. The appointment is to fill that seat until their Town’s spring election.] FY20 budget and circuit breaker funding; Updates on scheduling options and GPA; Policies – 1st readings on Bus Transportation, and Advertising, Sponsorship and Donations, 2nd readings on Staff and Student Responsible Use policies and Employee Social Media Policies – Broadcast live by NCAT**
