Library Trustees seek new member (Updated)

The Southborough Library’s Board of Trustees is advertising a vacancy that needs to be filled. (It seems that Chair Richard Wallace has stepped down after 9 years of service.)

The Town will soon be naming a replacement, and the Trustees are asking people to apply. While, they would love to have a new member who is also willing to take minutes, it isn’t a pre-requisite.

Here is their notice:

One of the best ways to get involved and help your local library is to serve on the 6-member Southborough Library Board of Trustees. There is currently a vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees. Interested in volunteering? Potential candidates must be registered to vote in Southborough.

The Library Board of Trustees and the Board of Selectmen will soon hold a joint meeting to fill this vacancy and the person selected will serve until the 2020 Annual Town Election. That election will include a positon to fill the remaining two years of the three-year Trustee position. The Trustees are interested in a candidate who would be willing to potentially take meeting minutes as the new board secretary.

If you want more information about becoming a Library Trustee, feel free to reach out to Trustee Vice Chair Marguerite Landry (Margace@aol.com), Library Director Ryan Donovan (rdonovan@southboroughma.com) or Town Clerk Jim
