Obituary: Joan M. (D’Amico) Misener, 86

Joan M. (D’Amico) Misener, 86, of Southborough passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2020 after a battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife, for 57 years, of the late John C. Misener who died in 2012.

Joan was a graduate of St. Michael’s Academy of Hudson and St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. She worked for Marlborough Hospital for a number of years before she was employed at Fay School of Southborough as the school nurse for over 20 years. Joan was an active member of St Anne Church of Southborough. Joan was an avid knitter and she enjoyed her weekly prayer shawl meeting with the”girls.” She was sure to bring homemade baked goods to each meeting for all to enjoy. For more than twenty years Joan loved vacationing in Aruba with John. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her children, Donna Domina and her husband Peter, Ellen Bridges, Peter Misener and his wife Judy all of Northborough; her brothers, Alfred D’Amico and his wife Kathleen of Hudson, FL; Michael D’Amico and his wife Linda of Merritt Island, FL; her sister in laws, Bea Ginga of Southborough; Margaret Bateman of Bellingham; Josephine Williams of Clinton; her grandchildren, Jessica Himmelman and her husband Brian, Melissa Domina, Shane Domina, Ashley Misener all of Northborough; Angela Dubowik and her husband Zachary of Auburn; John Misener of Costa Mesa, CA; Lily Misener of Allston; her great grandchildren, Madison and Brady Himmelman; Trey Morgado; Cameron Domina; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter Pamela Misener, her brother Pasquale ‘Pat’ and his wife Rita and a son in law, Paul Bridges.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 8, from 10 to 11:30 at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.

Funeral Mass will be private with a burial at Southborough Rural Cemetery at 1 p.m. Please keep in mind, we must all abide by the pandemic rules set forth by the Governor.
