  • Outdoor Preschool Yoga & Art (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Free program offered by the Southborough Library. Join Certified Kids’ Yoga Instructor Mandy Roberge as she takes kids through basic yoga postures, using games, music and literacy activities. This session will include art activities. This program is for kids aged 3-6, plus siblings and parents/caregivers. Children 3 and over must wear masks. Families will be asked to properly space out on the lawn. Pre-registration is required.   • Free Floral Workshop (10:00 – 11:30 am) @ 12 Wyndemere Drive: The Southborough Gardeners are happy to offer two floral workshops in this month to benefit the Southborough Food Pantry. All materials will be provided and masks are required. Numbers will be limited so preregistration is required for participation.   • Trick or Treat at the Library (2:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Kids are encouraged to come in costume to the window of the Southborough Library’s Children Room to collect a bag of treats. (Entry into the building is still off limits.) Participants must wear a face mask.
  • Jack O’Lantern Drive By (5:30 pm) @ throughout town: Stay tuned for details on Southborough Girl Scouts’ planned event to light up Southborough with pumpkins. Since kids weren’t able to participate in the annual pumpkin display Heritage Day weekend, Girl Scout families are being encouraged to put out their carved pumpkins on Friday night in locations easy to spot from cars driving by. A list of addresses is being compiled to share with the public to enjoy Friday evening through Halloween night.

Halloween, Saturday, October 31, 2020 

  • Boo in the Barnyard (10-11:30 am, 11:30 am – 1 pm, or 1-2:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Join us for this special children’s Halloween Trick or Treat event at Chestnut Hill Farm. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes, march in a costume parade around the farm and share their festive looks with our friendly goats. Get creative with our special Halloween nature crafts, search the farm to complete an autumn scavenger hunt, climb the haypile, and play pumpkin bowling! Pre-registration is required.   • Trick or Treat at the Library (2:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Kids are encouraged to come in costume to the window of the Southborough Library’s Children Room to collect a bag of treats. (Entry into the building is still off limits.) Participants must wear a face mask.
  • Trick or Treating in Southborough: The Board of Health and Selectmen greenlit trick or treating in Southborough on Halloween night. They are asking people to follow safety guidance posted by the CDC. For details, see dedicated post. (There are no formal hours, though the community generally waits until evening.)

This one is the shorter version for adults with children. (Costumes welcome.) Registration is limited, and Southborough residents will be given preference. For more details, see dedicated post.
  • Full Moon Halloween Hikes – adult hike (8:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Breakneck Hill Conservation Land: The Southborough Stewardship Committee is offering two free guided hikes under the full moon on Halloween night. This one is the longer version for adults. Registration is limited, and Southborough residents will be given preference. For more details, see dedicated post.

  • Fall Fun on the Farm (12:00 – 4:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Family Friendly program. Pre-registration required. Timed ticketing is in 1.5 hour increments (starting at noon, 1:30 and 3:00 pm.) Join us every Sunday to enjoy a hayride, a scavenger hunt, a visit with our friendly goats, a climbing haystack, fun games, live music, and more.
