New Library service supporting job seekers, adult learners, and K-12 and college students

The Southborough Library is touting new additions to its online services for patrons. The Library signed up for a new service to help families struggling with the challenges of increased at-home learning and adults struggling with the impact of the pandemic economy.

Through its membership in Brainfuse, the Library can offer more free resources for job seekers, students, and adult learners. Unlike other digital tools the library offers, this service gives users access to live support from tutors and coaches.

Brainfuse flyerJob seekers will get resources and support to help with searches, writing resumes/letters and preparing for interviews.  (A dedicated tutoring/support section for adult learners could also help unemployed or underemployed adults seeking to strengthen their resumes.)

For students in grades K-12 and college, the new service provides access to live tutoring and study support.

To take advantage of the program, users need a Southborough Library card. (Your library number will serve as your user name.)

What is Brainfuse?

Brainfuse helps students and job seekers reach their goals by connecting them with qualified eTutors and job coaches anytime, anywhere. Users can also initiate and organize online meetings for peer-to-peer learning. 

HelpNow

Brainfuse HelpNow offers a personalized homework help in core subjects (math, reading, writing, science and social studies) including SAT preparation with live tutors, writing labs, videos, diagnostic testing and a language lab. There is also an Adult Learning Center for learners of all backgrounds. Simply select the grade level and subject to begin your online learning. Users can also send experts questions and get expert answers!

JobNow

Brainfuse JobNow helps patrons can brush up on interview techniques or get live online interview practice from trained job coaches. Patrons can also submit their resumes any time through the JobNow Resume Lab and a job coach will send it back within 24 hours with detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement. Brainfuse job coaches can also help users strategically target jobs best suited to their interests and qualifications.

In addition, the Adult Learning Center offers test preparation (including the GED and the USCIS citizenship test) and a unique academic skills center featuring live, online tutors!
