Last week, I shared news on several fun events the Southborough Senior Center is offering this spring. I missed a few informational sessions worth noting that still have room to sign up.
These programs are free for seniors. (To attract participation, two of them also include lunch/refreshments.)
Below are quick details. You can find more in the newsletter. Space is limited, so sign up soon at 508-229-4453.
(But don’t forget, most of the Senior Center’s programs have waiting lists. So, if you realize you can’t make an event you signed up for, please let them know.)
MWRTA Representative Session
Monday, May 16th, 10:00 – 11:00 am
The Community Outreach Manager for the Metro West Regional Transportation Authority will answer questions about booking rides, fixed routes, senior and disabled Dial A Ride options, and more. Refreshments will be provided.
Lunch with Southborough Youth & Family Services
Wednesday, May 25th, 12:00 pm
SYFS serves Southborough residents through free mental and behavioral health support, social services, and prevention programs. Join SYFS staff over a free lunch to learn more about their services and “the ways they can help you and your loved ones to live a content and healthy life.”
Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine
Monday, May 23, 12:30 – 1:30 pm
A local practitioner will explain what acupuncture and herbal medicine “is all about and how it works”. She’ll answer questions and conduct “one hands-on experience”.
Fight the Fall
Monday, June 13th, 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Learn about the basics of balance. Understand “how and why balance changes throughout life, why falls are feared and most importantly, how to improve your balance so you can move about your day more freely.”
