  • Finding Fungi Guided Mushroom Hike (5:00 – 6:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: A family friendly guided hike. Pre-registration (and fee) required. Learn methods beginners to locate and identify fungi. For details, see related post.

Monday, August 14, 2023

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Drop-in Chess (12:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Bring a friend, or make a new one, as attendees play the competitive classic game: Chess. Weekly program over the summer (except for July 24th.)

Tuesday, August 15, 2023

  • Outdoor Story Time (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library lawn: Join Miss Kim for stories and fun! Please bring a blanket or chair. This event is for all ages and no registration is required. (In case of inclement weather, story time will be held in the Children’s Room.)
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Teen Design Lab (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Weekly drop-in for teens to explore the Idea Lab equipment. No Registration required. (Made possible by support from The Friends of the Southborough Library.) For details, see related post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Eco-Friends (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Weekly discussion group for kids ages 12+ who care about our environment and are looking for ways to make a difference! For details, see related post.
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Magic Show (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library (on the lawn unless weather requires moving indoors): Ed Popielarczyk will return with his comedic magic show for all ages. All ages welcome and no registration required.For details, see dedicated post.
  • Field to Flower (6:00 – 7:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Harvesting, Cutting and Bouquet Making. Participants ages 13+ will learn harvest techniques and go home with a 30 stem bouquet. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.
  • Safe Spaces Bowling (7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Bowlero, 405 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury: Southborough Safe Spaces is “crashing” Shrewsbury’s Pride drop-in bowling league. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Kids are invited to dance and sing along to a variety of traditional and popular children’s songs Best for newborns through preschool age. No registration necessary. This event will be held on the library lawn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Summer Craft Club (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Weekly drop-in craft session for kids ages 12+. Make craft projects using the Library’s materials, tools, and resources. (Made possible by support from The Friends of the Southborough Library.) For details, see related post.

  • Goat Hangout and Ramble (aka “Hike with Goats”) (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: (These weekly events have been renamed.) Your reservation gets you and your group of family or friends an hour-long experience with a friendly goat on its own harness and leash. For details, click here.
  • Monarch Migratory Meander Guided Hike (5:00 – 6:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For all ages. As you walk the gentle loop, learn about the natural cycles of migration and metamorphosis and meet caterpillars and butterflies. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.
