If listening to the downpour out your window is bringing you down — try to focus on sunny thoughts about this Thursday night. That’s when Southborough Recreation will put on the first of its Summer Block parties. Fortunately, the forecast is pretty good for it.
The party is scheduled for 6:00 pm on July 9th at Finn School playground, 60 Richards Road.
No registration is required to enjoy the family friendly drop-in party. And most of the fun is free. The event will feature:
- Crafts
- Face painting or temporary tattoo station
- Games
- Music with dance contests
- A visit from the Red Sox Mascot, Wally (the Green Monster)!
Given the forecast for it to be in the high 90s (at least to start), you may want to bring your wallet to buy ice cream from Uhlmann’s food truck.

If the Southborough Police and Fire Departments aren’t tied up, they’ll also likely have representatives and vehicles there to add to the fun.
