Donate at the Bloodmobile — Thursday

Get a "pool towel" in exchange for giving the "gift of life". Plus, platelet donors will be entered into a special raffle.

Although all the appointments are booked for this week’s visit from the Bloodmobile, donors should still be able to take advantage of walk-in opportunities between noon to 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 30th.

As usual, the bloodmobile will be parked in the Southborough Library’s parking lot at 25 Main Street.

For those unfamiliar, the travelling blood donation center provided by the Kraft Family Donor Center serves Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. (You can learn more about the partnershiphere.) Just this month, a new bloodmobile vehicle was put into service:

According to a recent post by the Kraft Center, they’re in need for more donations this summer:

Blood centers nationwide are experiencing a 25% decline since last month. While donations typically decrease during the summer months, the need for blood remains the same.
To help meet this need, we’re encouraging all eligible donors to step forward and donate. If you’re ineligible. Please help spread the word to someone who may be! ❤️✨

To donate, you must be over 17 years old, at least 110lbs., and “in good health and feeling well”, and bring a Photo ID. (Participants are also encouraged to “Be well hydrated and eat before donating”.)1

As an incentive/reward for donating this month, those who successfully donate will receive a Patriot’s Foundation pool towel..2

Thanks again to organizer Karen Anglim, who has been arranging for the Blood Mobile to make multiple visits each year for the past few years. Save the dates for more two drives scheduled for Thursdays in 2026: October 8th and December 17th.

  1. If you have other concerns about specific eligibility issues, please email BloodDonor@partners.org or call 617-632-3206.
  2. Those who donate platelets this month will also be entered into a raffle to win a special stuffed-beach tote. But that can’t be done through the Bloodmobile. You would need to book an appointment at a platelet specialist like Dana Farber or MassGeneral.
