On Monday afternoon, a “waste removal worker” reported that he was hit by a passing car that kept on going. The Southborough Police issued a press release seeking information on the driver of a gray Nissan Murano. The incident took place around 1:15 pm on June 16th near 92 Pine Hill Road.
[Note: I was traveling earlier this week with only pre-scheduled posts running. So I missed the news, picked up by every media outlet in the area, until this morning!]
This morning, SPD Chief Ryan Newell confirmed to me that they are still seeking information on the unknown driver.
According to a story in The Boston Globe yesterday, the worker’s “‘injuries were not life-threatening at all, but he was banged up pretty good,’ Newell said in a phone interview.”
The Globe’s coverage includes video that captured the car and the worker’s upset immediately after the off screen incident. The video (and the screen captures the police issued with the release) show the vehicle, but were unable to clearly read the license plate.
According to the Globe, Newell informed them the driver is believed to be a white male with facial hair.
