Next week, the Mass Horticultural Society will visit the Southborough Library. They’ll be bringing along their “Plantmobile”.
The society will be running a free educational program for kids entering PreK through 5th grade.
The society’s plantmobile is meant to ” Inspire the next generation of gardeners, scientists, and environmental stewards” with programs led by experts.
Registration is required (here) to participate in a free “Plant Parts & Functions” workshop scheduled for Thursday, July 30th from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
The society’s website describes:
Students will discover and explore the different parts of a plant and the functions they serve. Through age-appropriate activities, each child will learn to recognize these body parts in familiar and new plants they observe in their own life. As the students get older, they will learn how these body parts help the plant interact with the Earth and other living organisms.
The society promotes that it has been offering its plantmobile programming for free to eligible community organizations in the MetroWest, courtesy of support by the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation.
