New Planning Board member appointed

Andrew Mills has been appointed to the Planning Board after a joint vote by the Board of Selectmen and Planning Board on Monday night. Mills replaces Planning Board member Mary Hynes who retired last month. Read the full article → from New Planning Board member appointed

Westborough developer Bob Moss says he knows residents will have concerns about the 140-unit 40B project he wants to build in town. Comments on this blog suggest he’s right. The Westborough Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on the proposed CSX chemical transfer station off Flanders Road on Tuesday. The transfer station, which would be located about a mile from the Southborough border, has some residents concerned about safety, environmental impact, and traffic. Work has begun on new playground at South Union School

Preparations for Southborough’s newest playground are underway. DPW Superintendent Karen Galligan said the site at the South Union School on HIghland Street has been cleared and graded, and delivery of the playground equipment is expected the week of July 1. Voluntary odd/even water ban starts today

A voluntary odd/even water restriction will be in effect from June 21 to September 22. Under the ban, outside water use is restricted based on your house number, so odd-numbered houses use water on odd-numbered days, and even-numbered houses use water on even-numbered days. Selectmen decide not to reappoint zoning board chairman
While praising his dedication and commitment, selectmen last night voted not to reappoint Chairman Sam Stivers to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
