Algonquin football hopes for a winning season
Algonquin football begins their season tonight with a new coach and new hopes. The school hasn’t had a wining football season since 1997, but they’re banking on Assumption College grad and former Wachusett Regional offensive coordinator Justin McKay to turn things around. Job opening: Town of Southborough looking for administrative secretary
The Town of Southborough is searching for a new administrative assistant to work in the Building and Zoning Departments. The vacancy comes after current assistant Jeanne Survell resigned to take a new position with the town of Sterling, Interim Town Administrator Vanessa Hale said this week. Few Southborough residents voted in state primary
In a primary election in which most contestants ran unopposed, it’s probably no surprise that only a small number of Southborough residents turned out to vote yesterday. Breaking news: Mosquitoes infected with West Nile have been found in Southborough
The Central Mass Mosquito Control Project announced today mosquitoes infected with the West Nile virus were found in Southborough. The virus was detected in mosquitoes trapped on Newton Street on August 28. No cases of human infection in Southborough have been reported. Selectmen support using $308K in mitigation funds to upgrade police/fire dispatch center
When the 140-unit Madison Place apartment complex off Route 9 was approved earlier this summer, the developer agreed to pay the town $338K in mitigation funds to offset the impact the project will have on the town. At their meeting last night selectmen discussed using $308K of the funds to upgrade the police and fire department’s antiquated computer-aided dispatch center. Southborough Police have identified a second suspect in Monday’s attempted copper theft at the NStar building on Cordaville Road.
