The Town of Southborough is searching for a new administrative assistant to work in the Building and Zoning Departments. The vacancy comes after current assistant Jeanne Survell resigned to take a new position with the town of Sterling, Interim Town Administrator Vanessa Hale said this week. In a primary election in which most contestants ran unopposed, it’s probably no surprise that only a small number of Southborough residents turned out to vote yesterday. The Central Mass Mosquito Control Project announced today mosquitoes infected with the West Nile virus were found in Southborough. The virus was detected in mosquitoes trapped on Newton Street on August 28. No cases of human infection in Southborough have been reported. Southborough Police have identified a second suspect in Monday’s attempted copper theft at the NStar building on Cordaville Road.
