Southborough police participate in Click It or Ticket campaign
The Southborough Police Department is joining more than 120 other local departments, along with state police, in a high-visibility seat belt enforcement mobilization called Click It or Ticket. School district to discuss strategic planning at public meeting on Tuesday
The Northborough-Southborough schools are embarking on a project to develop a new strategic plan that will guide the district over the next decade or so. They’ll introduce the project to the community at a public meeting tomorrow night. They’re also looking for volunteers to join the Steering Committee. Southborough residents among NSPAC award recipients
At an awards ceremony on Tuesday evening, the The Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council recognized 93 local residents for the impact they have had on the lives of children with special needs. Selectmen approve expanded town administrator job description, appoint screening committee
With Town Administrator Jean Kitchen retiring at the end of next month, the Board of Selectmen said they must move quickly to find a replacement. At a meeting last week they put their stamp of approval on a new job description – one that expands the role of the town administrator – and appointed members to a committee charged with screening applicants. Following the lead of the Southborough K-8 School Committee last week, the Regional School Committee on Wednesday voted not to allow school choice at the high school. Doing Good: Southborough family holds yard sale on Saturday to raise money for pediatric cancer research
When Southborough third grader Gabrielius Bazikas was 3-1/2 years old, he was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Now nine years old, Gabi is a cancer survivor and he and his family are giving back to those who helped him get healthy. Developer proposes $360K gift to offset 40B impact
The developer of the proposed Madison Place apartment complex, a 40B project to be located off Route 9 near Crystal Pond Road, has agreed to pay the town $360K to help offset the impact the development will have on the town, Zoning Board of Appeals member Leo Bartolini Jr. told selectmen last week. K-8 School Committee rejects school choice option; Regional school committee to vote tomorrow
Every year our school committees vote on whether to allow out-of-district students to attend our schools as part of the state’s school choice program. The K-8 School Committee has never voted to accept the option in the past, and this year was no different. Trottier music ensembles honor classmate by ‘doing their best’
It’s competition season for Trottier music ensembles. As they have in past years, the groups this year are earning accolade after accolade: honorable mention at the University of New Hampshire Jazz Festival in March.
